COMUNICAT DE PRESA IDO
"February 7. 2004, a meeting between the two Presidents, Mr. Rudolf Baumann IDSF (International Dance Sport Federation)
and Mr. Nils-Hakan Carlzon IDO (International Dance Organization) took place in Zürich. After a very constructive meeting
a provisional agreement for Associate Membership of the IDSF was signed.
The Presidents of both World Dance Organizations
expressed their great appreciation and sees the inclusion of the IDO into the IDSF family as a fantastic opportunity for future
cooperation to the benefit of DanceSport worldwide.
By this agreement the IDO will through the IDSF, who is recognized
by the Olympic committee, representing Dance Sport World wide, be well connected with the following three World Sports Organizations:
The
GAISF (General Association of International Sports Organizations)
The ARISF (Association of IOC-Recognized International
Sports Federations)
The IWGA (International World Games Association)
Through the IDSF, the IDO could possible therefore
in the future apply to have one or more of its disciplines at the World Games. Some of the disciplines that could well be
considered is the Argentine Tango or the Salsa and possible some modern youth discipline like the Hip Hop."
IDO World Latino Dance Festival 4-10 July 2005 fantastic success!!
Seefeld Tourist board
want a three year contract! 2006 is already booked!!
The Tourist board in Seefeldt have very generouse sponsered the 2nd IDO World Latino Festival in Seefeld, which ended up
being a fantastic success. More than 500 dancers did compete in disciplines like Salsa, Merengue, Mixing Blues, Synchro dancing,
Bugg, Discofox and Argentine Tango.
The largest delegation came of course from Italy but there were also big delegations
from Sweden, Turkey, Serbia, Romania and Poland. 15 countries were represented and next year we expect at least 20 countries
to take part.
The event was organized very professionally by Mr. Ference Polai of Innsbruck. Mr. Polai is a very experienced
organizer of dance events in Austria. The IDO wants to thank Mr. Polai and his team of scrutineers and the Tourist Board of
the Olympia region Seefeld for a fantastic week in Seefeld. The 3rd WORLD LATINO FESTIVAL is already booked in the same week
as for this year starting Monday the 3rd July and ending Saturday the 8th July.
